A Leadership Pensacola Class of 2016 project: A Better Way to Give
- Leadership Pensacola (LeaP) was founded in the fall of 1982 with the first graduating class in 1983 and more than 1,500 graduates to date.
- The goal: to ensure the community’s pool of talented leaders would be continually renewed.
- Past Class projects
- Florida is the 3rd highest rate of homeless in the nation
- 3675 homeless people, 157 unaccompanied minors, 41% have a disability and 67% have additional issues
- No collaborative funding source for those who truly need help. Those without a home often cannot access help, while panhandlers with homes take advantage of our generosity.
